Reservations

Reservations Required

We require visitors to reserve a spot on a selected date, a practice we began in 2023. Why? Read more below.

Reservations Beginning Fall 2024

Before you reserve your spot, please make sure you have reviewed our FAQs.

WHY

Why are we requiring reservations?

This was not an easy decision, or our ideal of a farm visit, but we simply don’t have enough trees or parking spaces to accommodate everyone who now comes to the farm.

We want to meet the expectations of the families who come to cut a tree and since we don’t have enough for everyone, we would rather you know that before you drive to the farm.

REWARD

For 2023, you get 5% off the price of your tree.

In the first year of doing reservations, we know that some people may not be aware they are needed, and we hope we don’t have to turn them away—but as a small reward for those who do make a reservation you will receive 5% off your tree purchase.  Redeeming your 5% discount on your tree (not redeemable for other items) is explained when you make your reservation.

WHAT’S IT FOR?

Reservations are for you/your family to cut a tree and occupy a parking spot.

If you intend to cut more than one tree, you will need a reservation for each tree. A reservation does not guarantee that will find the tree you want on the day you come. If you have a reservation you will get a tree, but depending on supply it may be different species or height than you had hoped for or it may have to be a pre-cut tree. But if you have a reservation, we will make sure you get a tree.

AVAILABILITY

Later in the season we may only have pre-cut trees.

We have good supply of trees of all species and sizes in the field, but as the season progresses we will eventually need to close the fields and sell only pre-cut trees.

PHOTO SESSIONS

Reservations are NOT available for photography sessions.

Families taking photos are great, but hired or professional planned photo shoots are not allowed during the tree cutting season.

TREE FRESHNESS

Don’t be worried about making a reservation for the early season time slots.

Trees don’t start to “age” until you bring them in the house. If you cut your tree early, just keep it outside, keep it cool then set it up and water when you are ready, and your tree is fine.

Many people worry that if they cut their tree early it won’t stay fresh. But trees, if kept outside until the day you want to stand them up, are very forgiving. Trees do not age, or lose freshness, until they are brought into your house.

If you cut your tree in mid-November, just keep it outside in a cool spot out of the sun and it will be perfectly fine for the Christmas season once you bring it in.

As evidence, here at the farm we have display trees that we cut in early November and stand up outside for the season. We don’t take these trees down until April when we clean up, and yet they are still supple, soft, green and fresh at this time. Trees don’t start to “age” until you bring them indoors in a heated space.

RULES

A reservation indicates the intention to buy a tree.

A reservation does not mean you can come to the farm just to play, walk around, take photos and then go home. Our farm is open for families wishing to cut a tree together. We don’t have enough parking to accommodate non-customers just coming to enjoy the entertainment made possible by families who purchase a tree/wreath.

PRE-TAGGING

Now that we are doing reservations, pre-tagging will no longer be offered.

WEATHER

Cancelations due to weather

We will do our best to accommodate changes in reservations due to inclement weather. If a blizzard or ice-storm occurs on the day of you reservation, we will do our best to open up additional slots on later days.  Please bear with us on this.  This is the first time we have done reservation and we certainly have things to learn regarding how to do it best.   Just know that we are trying hard and want to make everyone happy.
